Meet Tara
Movement has always been my constant. As a child in an armed forces family, I moved homes and schools often up until the age of 11. I can now see how my nervous system never quite got the chance to settle or feel rooted.
As a teenager at school, I discovered I could run — and I did competitively. I’m always grateful for my running years, a practice you can take with you anywhere, any time.
Stillness never came easily — so I continued to move, living in Italy and France in my 20’s.
After becoming a wife and mother of two in my late 20’s, I began martial arts, unknowingly beginning my exploration into the nervous system and the unconscious patterns I was carrying.
What I discovered began to positively change how I lived, parented, worked, and moved through the world.
After acquiring a few injuries and a lot of yan energy, I actively sought out holistic ways to heal and bring more yin energy into my life. And this is when the trajectory of my life really changed, when I discovered Yoga.
My Journey
I believe when we become more self-aware of our patterns and feel safe, we can begin to peel the protective layers away. After all, it’s our divine birthright to reveal the jewels inside and let them shine brightly.
Over the years, I’ve worked across diverse industries — from visual merchandising, hospitality, teaching Italian and now, my true calling: all things yoga, somatics, breathwork, functional movement, nutrition and wellness.
I feel very blessed to have had a mentor, who offered encouragement and guidance in becoming a yoga teacher. I gained my initial teaching certificate with The British Wheel Of Yoga and shortly after dived deep into the world of Somatics.
I gained certification with Gentle Somatic Yoga (levels 1-3) with, yet another great mentor and I am also a member of the UK faculty team. I continue to be informed by the latest research and science, and I love to expand my knowledge.
As part of my continuous learning, I keep abreast of all things anatomy, physiology and fascia related, after all these are exciting times of discovery we live in.
I also enjoy delivering day and weekend retreats, giving attendees the opportunity to completely de-stress from the demands of their busy lives or job.
Besides sharing tools to my clients on how to self-regulate their own nervous system and encourage them to take movement snacks off the mat, I love to walk in nature and find the expansive spaciousness of the ocean sooths my own nervous system.
In health & vitality
